Passion Planner is looking for an analytical, critical thinking, detail-oriented Jr. Accountant/Bookkeeper! This role will assist our Finance Department in general bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. If you have a strong head for numbers, apply today!

Location: National City, CA

Employment: Full Time

Hours: This is a full-time position. Incumbent must be able to dedicate 40 hours per week during the normal office hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Compensation: $22 per hour

Job Responsibilities

Provide general bookkeeping and accounting support to the Admin/Finance department including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting Finance Department with general clerical duties, projects, and reports
  • Communication with clients, bankers, vendors and all levels of management
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality due to nature of the job
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Proactively keeping up to date with new changes, practices, and law updates within the financial field
  • Performing other duties as assigned

General Bookkeeping:

  • Verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Reconciling all accounts
  • Managing receipts and invoices
  • Complying with federal, state, and legal requirements 
  • Corresponding with accounting firm regarding tax returns

Accounts Payable:

  • Processing, record, and pay invoices, bills, and other transactions
  • Paying credit accounts
  • Processing employee reimbursements

Accounts Receivable:

  • Preparing and sending invoices
  • Resolving outstanding payments through communication with departments, vendors, and clients
  • Depositing checks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be in alignment with Passion Planner’s mission to help people manifest their ideal lives
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2-3 years bookkeeping/accounting work experience
  • 2 years of Quickbook experience, QB Online preferred
  • Demonstrate the highest level of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to perform basic and higher mathematical calculations
  • Fundamental knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of general accounting theories and guidelines
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of advanced functions
  • Experience with Google Suite is a plus
  • Strong skills in performing data entry and word processing
  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
