This is my second Passion Planner. The first I ordered for 2020 and, while my job was considered essential, I didn’t use the planner much at all. It was the original style of the planner and I don’t know what it was about that one, but the paper felt too light and crinkly and the cover was too soft. Maybe I got a dud. Maybe it was me being too picky, but I didn’t like it.
Fast forward to late January 2021. My work schedule is sporadic and I’m doing my best to manage three or four different creative projects all without a planner. Needless to say, I failed at it and after showing up to work at the wrong time because I was relying on my wall calendar and it’s too easy for me to read the schedule a week ahead, I decided to get a planner.
I knew I wanted a vertical format because it worked well for me in the past, but the planner I had before was just too big and only came in one size. I briefly looked at planners Target and Barnes & Noble carry, but found nothing.
So, I caved and decided to give the Passion Planner another shot, nitpicks issues about the paper be damned.
And that’s when I saw the new spiral bound option! And it came in sizes!
I ordered the medium size with some tabs in Earthy Neutrals. And omg I love it!
Now, it still doesn’t help me actually USE the planner everyday, because that’s just not how my brain works, apparently, but I use it often enough that I can manage my projects, work schedule, and keep track of fun things with my husband.
I love being able to block out hours of the day for my work schedule. It helps me feel less guilty about not writing or researching as much as I’d like for my personal projects, because I can physically see the amount of time at my day job. I can also keep track of time spent doing other related things that aren’t as easy to quantify.
So, it may not have worked magic by suddenly turning me into an Instagram studyblr superstar, but it has helped me be more forgiving of the way time seems to disappear around me.
